Legendaarisen Gong-yhtyeen Daevid Allen on kuollut. Allen oli menehtyessään 77-vuotias. Allenin kuolema ei tullut yllätyksenä, sillä viime kuussa hänelle oli annettu kuusi kuukautta elinaikaa keuhkosyövän takia.
Allen perusti Gongin Ranskassa vuonna 1967. Alun perin se soitti psykedeelistä rockia, mutta vuosien varrella yhtye nousi yhä korkeampiin sfääreihin avaruusrockin, jazzin, fuusiojazzin ja vaikka minkä suuntaan.
