Digisaation luoman vauhdintunteen ja näennäisen vinyylibuumin keskellä unohdamme usein formaatin, joka oli mitä luultavimmin tärkeä osa elämääsi ja kasvuprosessiasi. Tämän kiiltelevän, halkaisijaltaan 120 millimetriä olevan formaatin kuolemasta on paasattu jo vuosikausia, mutta vaikka myyntivolyymit ovat laskeneet, näyttelee cd-levy edelleen suurta roolia suomalaisten kuuntelutottumuksissa.
Tämä valtavirran unohtama ja vinyyliretroilijoiden halveksima formaatti saa oman merkkipäivänsä. Huhtikuuna ensimmäisenä päivänä ensimmäistä kertaa järjestettävän Cd Store Dayn on lanseerannut porilainen Ektro Records.
Pienlevy-yhtiö lupaa myydä cd-levyjä silvotuin hinnoin ja murskatarjouksin. Tätä alleviivataan mainosvideoilla, joista ensimmäisellä Mika Rättö lyö miekalla levyn puoliksi, ja toisella Jussi Lehtisalo ajaa autollaan cd:n yli.
