MTV EMA -gaala järjestetään tänä vuonna Unkarin Budapestissä 14. päivä marraskuuta.
Tänä vuonna eniten ehdokkuuksia kahmi itselleen Justin Bieber. Bieber on ehdokkaana yhteensä kahdeksassa eri kategoriassa. Kuusi ehdokkuutta saivat Doja Cat sekä Lil Nas X, kun taas viitee ehdokkuuteen ylsivät Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo ja The Kid Laroi.
Best Nordic Act -sarjassa kisaavat tänä vuonna tanskalainen laulaja Drew Sycamore, norjalainen laulaja-lauluntekijä Sigrid, ruotsalainen house-kollektiivi Swedish House Mafia, tanskalainen räppäri Tessa sekä ruotsalainen poptähti Zara Larsson. Suomalaisia artisteja tai yhtyeitä ei siis ehdolle tänä vuonna päässyt.
